This book covers all aspects of drug information practice. Chapters are organized into five parts, including past, present, and future drug information, and sections on providing information, legal and ethical issues, special activities, and drug and poison information centers. This book provides a framework for improving a practitioner’s information management skills and helping he or she evolve with the changing healthcare environment. It reviews how to research, interpret, collate, and disseminate medical information. It provides guidance for applying those skills to activities common in institutional and managed care settings, such as quality assurance, pharmacy and therapeutics committee activities, writing, and clinical practice guidelines.These worthy objectives are timely because they address current standards of practice and provide recommendations for meeting future drug information needs. It currently fills a void in this aspect of practice. Although the book is broad in scope, the authors meet their objectives. If more depth is required, the reader may consult the chapter’s references.
